Sunjay D. Trehan, Esq. is a Senior Associate Attorney with Shankman Leone. He represents businesses and individuals in various aspects of business transactions and litigation.

Sunjay has a wealth of litigation and transactional experience. He began his career at the State Attorney’s Office in Hillsborough County as an Assistant State Attorney. He later joined a small firm of trial attorneys where he practiced in the areas of medical negligence, wrongful death, personal injury, labor and employment, and commercial litigation. Sunjay spent the next six years of his career as an in-house attorney in the health care and hospitality industries, where he drafted legal documents, managed litigation, and provided legal and regulatory advice to company executives. Sunjay’s in-house experience gives him a keen understanding of the business needs of our clients.

Sunjay is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, Middle District of Florida, and Southern District of Florida. Sunjay earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude, where he was the Student Writing Editor of the Inter-American Law Review and was awarded the Priscilla Jewett Schneller Scholarship. He earned his B.A. from Emory University, majoring in psychology and political science.

In his free time, Sunjay enjoys playing guitar, playing tennis, and spending time with his family. He also provides pro bono representation to children in foster care through Crossroads for Florida Kids.
